22. How does the narrator account for pearl's wild and untamed character?
-The narrator often will call Pearl and imp because of the way she acts. She has all the characteristics of the scarlet letter, which is opposite what you would think she would act like. Since this child is suppurated from society you would think that she would be shy and not out going , but when in reality she is crazy and imp like. She also has a temper and gets mad when people look at her or her mother weird. For example Pearl would collect flowers and throw them at her mothers bosom and when she would hit the scarlet letter she would dance around. It is almost like Pearl knows what's going on and the difference bettew her family and other children's family's even though she is very little.
